Austin del Rio practices in tax and estate law as well as in general corporate law. His tax practice focuses on tax and estate planning for business owners, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and cross-border tax issues. He assists clients to set up personal and family trusts, plan for asset protection and carry out estate freezes and corporate reorganizations of their businesses.
Austin applies his dynamic and creative approach to problem solving to assist business owners with the sale or intergenerational transfer of their business interests. He also works closely with estate liquidators with a view to ensuring a tax-efficient distribution of assets from an estate.
Austin is a member and published author at the Canadian Tax Foundation as well as a member of the Association de planification fiscale et financière and Young Bar Association of Montreal. He is currently completing his Master’s degree in taxation at HEC.
